Recipes to blog about - slow cooker teriyaki chicken

So! Cooking challenge today, for a swap:



“.. Once partners are assigned find your partners' comments and pick at least 1 recipe they suggested, try it out and blog about it. “

A swap idea I came up to with the purpose of forcing me to try new recipe.. and it quite worked! Look, teriyaki chicken.

Ingredients:

• 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 cup chopped white onion
• 1/2 cup honey
• 1/2 cup soy sauce (use low-sodium if desired)
• 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
• 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh ginger
• 1/8 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
• 1/4 cup cold water
• 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
• (optional toppings: sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds)

Tiramisù alle pesche

Ciao a tutte signore, spero che la settimana sia iniziata bene!
In caso contrario ho una ricetta che potrebbe tirarvi su di morale..



Ero curiosa di provare una versione più estiva di questo fantastico dolce e ho fatto un po’ di ricerche.. Ho trovato questa ricetta sul blog Cucina che ti passa, ma alla fine l’ho modificata quindi ecco qui la mia versione!!

Ingredienti:
300 gr di savoiardi
3 uova
75 gr zucchero
250 gr mascarpone
500 gr di pesche sciroppate

Finds of the week #19 e consulenze

Ciao a tutte, spero abbiete passato un buon w/e.
Prima di passare ai Find della settimana ho un paio di cose da dire:

1. AIUTO! Ho davvero bisogno di un’epifania perchè questa cosa mi sta facendo ammattire:


Ho 11 perle di legno da utilizzare per fare una collana ma non so come sistemarle, se usarle tutte, come disporle e poi non mi convince per niente la catenina, forse dovrei usare della stoffa o alternarla/intrecciala con del nastro ma di che colore.. ARGH!! Il fatto è che ci penso e ci ripenso ma ogni soluzione che provo non mi piace, quindi mi arrendo e chiedo aiuto a voi. Ora è diventata una questione di principio e DEVO finirla! Aiutatemi, vi prego T^T

Tartufeo (aka Tartufi Oreo e burro d’arachidi)

Ciao a tutte!
Come mi ero ripromessa sto passando in rassegna “vecchie” foto e progetti che avevo intenzione di condividere e oggi ho deciso di pubblicare questa piccola ricetta, semplice e veloce, che magari vi può tornare utile come dessert nel w/e.
Parliamo di Tartufeo (neologismi FTW!!) aka Tartufi con Oreo e burro d’arachidi.

Mi dispiace che le foto non siano il massimo ma andavo un po’ di fretta durante la preparazione e non ho potuto fare di meglio, in più il marmo del bancone in cucina è super riflettente e ha tutto il mio odio!!!

Tutto è nato nel momento in cui ho dovuto decidere cosa fare per S.Valentino (che quest’anno abbiamo boicottato). C’erano due ricette che mi incuriosivano (la I di Chef in training e la II di And they cooked happily ever after) così ho colto l’occasione per provare questi tartufi.
Ho fatti entrambi i tipi: uno semplice, biscotti e formaggio, l’altro con aggiunta di burro d’arachidi. Quelli semplici sono molto dolci e possono risultare un po’ pastosi ma il burro d’arachidi bilancia benissimo con la sapidità e il sapore di nocciolina che con la cioccolata sta sempre benissimo (nel caso non si fosse capito li preferisco u__u).
Se non siete convinte vi lascio le istruzioni per fare entrambi in una botta sola!

Ingredienti (per 20-25 di tartufi):
1 scatola di Oreo
1 panetto di Philadelphia
qualche cucchiaio di burro d’arachidi
cioccolata al latte/binca/fondente per la copertura
mandorle
pirottini

Rose del deserto

Venerdì scorso, previa partenza per trasferta, ho preparato un nuovo kit per il Viaggiatore in cui ho incluso un oggetto f***issimo fatto con le mie zampe (che posterò presto) e questi dolcetti.

Ho usato la ricetta di Giallo zafferano, dimezzando le dosi, ma non ne sono venuti 25.. li ho fatti giganti.. Comunque ecco il mio tentativo documentato!

Ingredienti (per 25 biscotti):
90 gr. di burro
75 gr. di zucchero
un pizzico di sale
una bustina di vanillina
1 uovo
63 gr. di farina di mandorle
63 gr. di farina
una bustina di lievito
1 cucchiaio di cacao
50 gr. di cork flakes (più una manciata per biscotto)

Omeletteless omurice

I wanted to do proper omurice but I made a bit too much of chicken sauce so I decided to avoid the omelette and simply add it to the steamed rice. Still yummy :9

I used this recipe by Cooking with dog. It's rather simple, as all Asian dishes you'll spend more time slicing and preparing all the ingredients than actually cooking. Anyway I summed up all the steps here.

Ingredients:
130g chicken
Salt & pepper
Garlic
1/4 onion
4 mushrooms
White wine
200g canned tomato (I used tomato puree)
1/2 bouillon cube
1 bay leaf
30g frozen peas
Olive Oil
"280g Steamed Rice Cooked with Less Water (0.617 lb)"

Chocolate salami

A.k.a. Salame di cioccolato. This is the quick and (super) yummy treat I made Friday night (2a.m. more or lesszzzzz).

I used this recipe, from Giallo Zafferano. It's very simple so I made a quick translation:

Ingredients (for 8 people):
300gr. cookies
150gr. butter (softened)
200gr. dark chocolate
2 eggs
100gr. sugar
2 spoons of rum (or rum aroma)
1/2 mug of almonds (this recipe didn't require them but almonds are good!)

My Christmas roundup

Hi there everyone!
I said this before but the crafty awesomeness lately really is overwhelming, it makes you want to drop everything you're doing and sew, glue, cut and create. But! My family and I don't spend Christmas at home, we usually go back in Torre del Greco and we celebrate at my grandma's house, so it's pretty useless to decorate our home. We make the tree because it's a tradition and this year I had the "honour" to take care of it with my (chinese, who doesn't celebrate Christmas) boyfriend! XD

But I actually love Christmas-ish decorated houses, they look so warm and bright.. I got all excited and I saved tons of photos lately from various bloggers who shared their decorating skills. I'd like to show you my favourites, maybe they''ll be inspiring for you too!

Yummy Japanese Recipe with a Surprise

Recipe swap!!

I took the recipe from a video on the "Cooking with dog" channel. I chose Omurice as recipe for this swap. It's rather simple and the ingredients are common so it's easy to do.

And the recipe I received was Yakisoba! :D
