Recipes to blog about - slow cooker teriyaki chicken

So! Cooking challenge today, for a swap:

Swap-bot swap: Recipes to blog about

“.. Once partners are assigned find your partners' comments and pick at least 1 recipe they suggested, try it out and blog about it. “

A swap idea I came up to with the purpose of forcing me to try new recipe.. and it quite worked! Look, teriyaki chicken.

Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped white onion
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (use low-sodium if desired)
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh ginger
  • 1/8 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • (optional toppings: sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds)

You can find the original recipe here, on Gimme some oven. Spoiler: you’ll have to cook the chicken in a honey-soy sauce mixture.

10 Minuti per fare Shopping!

Salve gente!

Christmas holidays blog challenge

This idea to share some Holiday tales popped in my mind and I decided that it'd be fun to read about others' traditions too, so I made it a challenge-swap:

"This last 7 days, from Friday 21st December to Friday 28th December. During this period you've to take a picture of something that represent your day and post it on your blog writing about that. Phone pictures are ok, but try to make them pretty. You can take pictures and write about anything: gifts shopping, family meals, travels, .. "

- Friday 21st
I was the only loser studying at the library. It was cool, I had a whole room all for me!

As every year I accomplished my very own mission: gift wrapping!

- Saturday 22nd
We left very early in the morning to go to my grandma's (she lives more than 700km far from here, it takes us 7 hours and we left at 5am. It was very dark and I felt asleep the second I sat in the car. I managed to take the picture the first time I opened my eyes during the trip.

- Sunday 23rd
We had lunch at my aunt's. They build this huge nativity every year and it gets more detailed every time.

Ask me anything

I'm back! yay!
First of all I've to apologise to Takara town for being so late with this post. As said I've been on a trip and, surprise, I've caught a flu the following day I came back home =__= Geez, I've never been so sick like this year, damn it!
Anyway! time for answers!!

"Ask me anything" swap:

Swap-bot swap: Ask me anything

"Maybe some of you are familiar with the "Ask me anything" box on Tumblr, if not, it's nothing complicated: you think about an interesting something you'd like to know about your partner and you ask them."

We made a list of 10 questions each and here are my answers (finally!).

Takaratown's questions:

1. What is your favorite dish that you like to cook or prepare yourself. You can pick something sweet or savory. If you never cook or bake, what is your favorite food instead. Include a recipe if you like.

I love Asian food and I'm especially addicted to ravioli :Q
(There are some recipes around >> here << )

2. What country do you most want to visit next ,and why?

I'd love to visit the USA and travel around China and Japan, but after my little cruise last week I'd like to follow out my country and Europe first. Spain and France have very fascinating places that must be seen.

3. Please choose a cocktail which best represents who you are and please explain why?
Meh I can't think about a proper one but maybe something bubbly that taste bitter-ish could do.

Blog challenge - Day 1/4 - SUMMER DIY theme

I recently joined a swap called "Blog challenge": I've to make a post related to a theme once a day for 4 consecutive days before the deadline. So let's get this started!! :D
The themed I chose is "craft" but! since the hot season is coming, I picked a list of:

〜(^∇^〜) SUMMER DIYS (〜^∇^)〜

I thought about hot weather, white beaches, crystalline water.. what is usually needed to rock on the sand??
I made a selection of objects that can be useful during summer (and I obviously had the sea in mind!) and for these items I've some tutorials, to realize a DIY version of them. Here is the list of the stuff I'll post about in these 4 days:

[DAY 1] beach bags ++ sunglasses
[DAY 2] flip flops ++ swim suits cover ups
[DAY 3] swim suits ++ hair accessories and hairstyles
[DAY 4] top/dress ++ skits/ shorts

Let's see some beach bags then..

November challenge @ Bloggers United - 4th (and last) week

"What is your ultimate gift you have received, and what is the best gift have you given"

Hum..
The best gift ever received I think is the one I got from my bro this year for my b.day:

Not to Dublin though, we changed our destination, it's Paris now :D

Along with this, from my parents:

it's a 1L beer mug with a 1L can of Paulaner inside <3

About the best given gift.. well you don't even know when people actually like a present you give them or they don't. But I'd say that handmade gifts are the best I give. They're very special and made with care and surely unique! And they're the one that I enjoy to make the most!

Aww this was the last question of the "November challenge", I'm sad it's over D: I had fun writing the posts! Hope it was nice to read them XD

November challenge @ Bloggers United - 3rd week

"Whats inside your handbag? You can tell alot about a person by what they carry around with them everyday, what's in yours and why? (photo's are always welcome)"

Aaah another nice question :D
I think photos'll help me again for this one..

This is the bag I usually take around with me during the week:

It has several pockets, on the front..

..and inside.

November challenge @ Bloggers United - 2nd week

"Oh dear! Your on death row!
(don't worry....... your totally not guilty and the governor is going to call to stop it before it happens). What is your last ever meal and why?"

Yes! This is a much more simple question.
So, I think I'd not do without a huge bowl of ramen:

A plate of my mum's mushrooms ravioli with vegetables ragù (I ate them just yesterday) and the "savoury pie" we make for Easter. It's called "Casatiello":

Then, since I just love junk food, I'd demand a huge variety of this kind of stuff:

Oh and loads of beer of course!!
Perfect, now I'm hungry again D:<

November challenge @ Bloggers United - 1st week

"Your Lotto numbers have come up! You have taken care of your family and friends, you have 15 Million dollars to spend on whatever you dreamed of before. How are you going to spend the money?"

This question is more complicated that it seems. I mean, everyone has their wishes and dreams but, personally, when they ask me, for example for my b.day or Christmas, what I'd like to have I don't know how to reply. Maybe it's just me, but if I'd have the Genie of the Lamp in front of me I'm sure I'll come to waste my 3 wishes.
Anyway, after some thinking I managed to find a somehow decent reply to this question. I warn you it'd sound very unoriginal, but this is something I'd actually love to do.
With those 15 million dollars I'd buy a private jet and a comfortable boat. I'd take a planisphere and I'd create an crowded itinerary. I'd hire loads of local guides, one for each country I'd visit. Then I'd began to travel around the land, each state of each continent. I'd take loads of photos, I'd eat every kind of local food, I'd like to learn how much as possible about every traditions and way of live.
Then I'd take my new, sparkling boat and I'd travel around the islands. I'd like to do immersions and see all the beauties the sea has to offer. I'd like to take underwater pictures, sprawl on every beach and see the sunset from every corner of the World.

'Cause "I'd do a tour of the world" wasn't enough!
